Creative Dance for Boys and Girls (ages 3-6) Wednesdays 1:45 pm, Saturdays 9 am
After our Fall Session introduction to movement essentials, we are ready to move on to more advanced dancing! In addition to studying body, space, energy, and time through structured improvisation, students will develop their own choreography and improve their ability to memorize movement. Most classes will feature story dances, too.
Contemporary Dance (ages 6-9) Mondays 5:30 pm, Saturdays 10 am
With a strong emphasis on both ballet and contemporary dance technique, students will
- imitate the body shapes, spatial pathways, energy qualities, and timing of the teacher's choreography.
- create their own choreography to teach others.
- learn how to explore movement through firmly purposeful improvisation
