About Karen Findlay

Karen has been teaching children's creative dance professionally since 2010. 2012-2016 she served as director of Utah Artist, Interrupted, an organization supporting adults in the arts (especially dancers) who are trying to stay connected to their art form and the arts community while setting aside their professional goals to focus on family and other responsibilities. 2014-2016 Karen was on the advisory board for the pre-professional dance company, Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company in Provo, Utah. She minored in Modern Dance at Brigham Young University, where she performed in two collegiate contemporary dance companies. One of those companies was Kinnect, a traveling dance troupe that studies children's dance education techniques, then goes out into the schools to teach dance lessons and perform at assemblies.

Karen also has a strong background in music (vocal and percussion), and theater. She's a serious playwright, a hobby collagist, and has a penchant for art history.
